Plug-ins
What is a Plug-In? A plug-in is simply a piece of software inside of Pro Tools that you can put on a channel to process and modify the sounds. You can put a Plug-In on a track, placing it in one of the "Insert" slots on the Track.
There are 1,000s of plug-ins out there that you can get, In addition to the Stock Plug-ins that come free with Pro Tools.
These are the major groups:
Equalizers (EQ)
Compressors (Dynamics)
Gates (Dynamics)
Expanders (Dynamics)
De-Essers (Dynamics)
Reverb (Reverb)
Delay (Delay)
Modulation (Modulation)
Harmonics (Harmonics)
Dither (Dither)
SoundField (SoundField)
Before we start, I want to go over the Pro Tools Plug-In window options.
